Agricultural Export Management Platform

Project Background

The client is a Ningbo-based tea and seafood exporter, primarily serving the EU, Japan and Southeast Asia. Agricultural goods carry strict compliance requirements for traceability, quarantine and cold-chain temperature. The team used to rely on hand-written paper documents, which were prone to issues during customs spot checks, and customers also demanded electronic traceability.

Regulations vary widely by destination country (EU HACCP / Japan JAS / FDA), making document preparation tedious and error-prone. Cold-chain temperature was recorded manually, so missing data could not be traced—undermining future customer cooperation. The client wanted a fully digital platform spanning origin to customs.

Core Challenges

• The origin traceability chain is long (farmer → cooperative → consolidation → processing → export) and must be traceable down to the farmer level.
• Quarantine reports and HACCP compliance documents are hard to manage in one place.
• Manual cold-chain temperature logging is prone to gaps, creating customs spot-check risk.

• Orders and quarantine documents must be filed for customs in sync; the paper process is inefficient.
